Dear Reader,
I hope you find inspiration, and words that move you.
Before i digress, let me state my cenral point: EVERYBODY
on this entire planet makes grand generalizations about the world they live in.
Our culture is full of them- and thanks to the internet, the airplane, the telephone, and the car, we are able to travel just about anywhere to find the generalizations that fit our lives.
Generalizations are sometimes referred to as advice, or wisdom or counsel.
For some, it's as simple as " If at first you don't succeed , try again". and for others, it takes a simple chorus of "Don't Stop thinking about tomorrow. It will Be Here Better than Before. Cause Yesterday is gone. " (Don't Stop,Fleetwood Mac).
Each person, is different, though ad needs to hear a different generalization.
That is why everybody must be careful of what you believe, and be aware of it.
think of poor Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, who blindly puts all her faith in this mystical Wizard of Oz, only to find out that the true power was in her hands already. And what about the more modern fairy tale Shrek- where the Monster generalizes that the Princess won't love him because he's an Ogre. And aren't they meant for each other? He hasn't even factored in that she might be an Ogre too.
Or even the classic Frankenstein- where the towns people generalize the gruesome Frankenstein to be a killer-even though he dies protecting his creator? what messages are you missing because you don't know the whole story? Nobody has all the answers- except you.
The song Don't Stop Believing by Journey? Is that a beloved classic because tons of people don't believe?
THe truth we have so many more thoughts than we are aware of.
My point is not to order you readers into become mind-numbingly
obsessive overthinkers. no my point is just to permit yourself to think freely, and then see what it is you really , truly think. What do you believe?
I'd like to close with one of my favorite moments from the classic rock song Amazing by Aerosmith
"Remember that the light at the end of the tunnel , may be you."
